Karen Olsen is Senior Advisor and Carbon Market Coordinator at UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre. She has 20+ years of experience in the area of sustainability transition research, impact assessment for sustainable development and transformational change and capacity building in developing countries. She is project manager for the Integrated Assessment for Article 6 (IAA6) project and has followed the UNFCCC negotiations on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement since 2015. She holds a PhD in International Developmet Studies, a MSc in Political Science and a BSc in Geography. She serves as subject matter expert for the Integrerity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM) focusing on safeguards and sustainable development.
