Pr. Mohammed Sadiki is Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Forests, Morocco, since October 2021. Holder of PhD from University of Minnesota, USA and Doctorate and a diploma of Engineer in Agricultural Sciences from IAV, Morocco, as well as a Master from University Paris-Sud, France, his career is rich of different responsibilities in the education and training sector, research and innovation, and agricultural and rural development. Dr. Sadiki has been a scientist and professor of genetics at the Hassan II Institute of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine of which he was General Director from 2009 to 2013 and Director of Scientific Research from 2005 to 2009. From 2013 to 2021 he served as Secretary General of Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Forests. Plant Geneticist, Dr. Sadiki has led numerous scientific research programs and projects in Morocco, in the Mediterranean and internationally. Author and co-author of numerous scientific publications in the field of plant genetics, agricultural biodiversity, and seed technology, he has received several awards, recognizing his scientific research, including the FAO Merit Medal, the Order of Agricultural Merit of the French Ministry of Agriculture, the IPGRI-CGIAR Merit Award, the University of Minnesota Distinction Award, Moroccan National Merit Award. He was also President of Board of International Center for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM) since 2019. He is chair and member of Board and council of different International and national centers and organizations.
