About

Dr. Rachael Barza is the Associate Director and lead for climate adaptation and nature finance at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. Rachael is an economist specialising in systemic resilience, including both human system resilience to climate change and nature and biodiversity decline, and natural system resilience to climate change and human activities. She leads development of the EBRD's approach to policy and investment opportunities across the climate adaptation and nature finance topics. Before joining the EBRD, Rachael worked in consulting across energy, financial markets, climate change, and disaster response. She has a PhD in Economics from Harvard University, and a BA in Economics and Mathematics from Barnard College.
