Unni Kløvstad was newly appointed Head of Department at the Nordic Council of Ministers, with responsibilities including i.a sustainable food systems and sustainable management of natural resources. She has been with the Norwegian Foreign Service for 30 years, with diplomatic postings including the UN mission in New York, the NATO mission in Brussels and the EU mission in Brussels. In the years from 2014-2018 she was the Norwegian Ambassador to Australia, New Zealand and Oceania. Unni Kløvstad has extensive experience from multilateral work, security policy and development cooperation, and leading up to her new assignment in the Nordic Council of Ministers she headed the Section for Ocean Policy and Private Sector Development in the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
