Mathews Mhuru is a dynamic nutrition policy and advocacy expert with over 14 years of experience. He has extensive experience in the design of nutrition policies and its application as a central instrument for the ending all forms of malnutrition and for resilient and sustained economic development. Mathews has been managing the full cycle of several projects and programmes on food security and nutrition, food system transformation, right to food, together with international NGO’s, the United Nations and the public sector. Mathews has been very instrumental in enactment of food and nutrition laws and policies not only in Zambia but in East and Southern Africa through the policy dialogues parliamentary engagement and advocacy he has led. He was chairperson for the global Scaling Up Nutrition Civil Society Network from 2020 to 2021, and is a current member of the Scaling Up Nutrition Executive Committee. He was also the coordinator for the East and Southern Africa Civil SocietyNutrition Network.
