Maria is as a project manager and gender specialist at International Alert Lebanon. Her focus revolves around women, peace, and security, specifically under the two pillars of UNSCR 1325: participation and prevention. Additionally, she is involved in mainstreaming gender into peacebuilding projects. Before joining International Alert, Maria held the role of program manager at the National Commission for Lebanese Women. In this capacity, she worked on enhancing women's political participation, advancing the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda, advocating for legal changes, and raising awareness about sexual and domestic violence.
