Monica has longstanding experience in developing the Emissions Database for Global Atmospheric Research (EDGAR) of the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission. In particular, she contributes to the EDGAR advancement towards a dynamic tool, creating a direct link between science and its application for policy analysis. Her research experience deals with the improvement of the emission estimates for all sectors, development of high time and spatial resolution emissions, trend analysis and policy impact evaluation, urban emissions and food systems. She is engaged in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change work contributing to the Assessment Reports and as expert on Short-lived Climate Forcers from Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use, waste and energy/industry sectors.
