About

Member of the Senior Management Team of ECMWF (European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts), world leader in global medium-range numerical weather prediction, Richard is the Deputy Director of the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS), which ECMWF operates on behalf of the European Commission. He is a scientific expert in remote sensing and data assimilation of atmospheric composition with a special focus on the carbon cycle. He is the (co-)author of around 50 international peer-reviewed publications in the scientific literature as well as many contributions to conference and workshop proceedings. Currently, he supports the Director of CAMS with the implementation of the programme with a special focus on the ramp-up of the new Copernicus anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions monitoring & verification support capacity.
