Joachim Maes works since 2021 as a policy analyst in the unit policy development and economic analysis in the European Commission's DG for Regional and Urban Policy. He works on the challenges for regions and cities posed by the green transition, climate change and biodiversity loss. Before joining DG REGIO, he worked as biodiversity researcher in the Joint Research Centre.
