Benjamin Van Bunderen Robberechts
Climate and Children's Rights Activist, Climate Justice For Rosa
About
Benjamin Van Bunderen Robberechts is a 17-year-old activist from Belgium. His passion for children's rights and the environment has led him to participate in numerous climate and children's rights projects. Benjamin's activism began at the age of 11, but it was a tragic event that truly fueled his determination.
In the summer of '21, Benjamin experienced a deeply personal loss when his good friend Rosa was one of the 220 victims of the European floods. Driven by grief and determination to bring attention to the human toll of the climate crisis, he founded the Climate Justice For Rosa campaign.
Through Benjamin's tireless efforts, the European Union responded to his plea and officially recognized July 15th as EU day for the victims of the global climate crisis.
Continuing to make his voice heard, Benjamin serves as a climate adviser to the Child Rights International Network. In this role, he wants to ensure a safe and healthy environment for the children of today and tomorrow.
