Marja Ruigrok started as an Alderman in Haarlemmermeer Municipality in 2019. She is now in her second term. Her portfolio contains Traffic & Transport, Economics and Culture. Before becoming an Alderman, Marja was an entrepreneur and City Councilor and chairman of the VVD group in Amsterdam council. As a member of the Executive Management of the Transport Region Amsterdam, Marja is responsible for, among others, shared mobility, connectivity and residential construction, the multimodal hub Schiphol and The Green Deal Bike. Marja is a real cycling ambassador for the Greater Amsterdam region and likes to ride around on her electric wooden bike.
