Elena Hooijschuur is a researcher in international climate policy with PBL Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency, and holds a Master of Science in Industrial Ecology from TU Delft and Leiden University. She has been working for the European Commission supporting DG Climate Action, and on Horizon projects ENGAGE, ELEVATE and COMMITTED. Her work involves policy and short- and long term scenario analysis on global climate mitigation, and tracking climate action and progress towards targets in countries using the IMAGE modelling framework. For instance, she analysed cost-effective reductions to achieve the Paris Agreement climate goal, and works on comparing the expected effect of national climate and energy policies with NDCs.
