About

Mr. Kaassamani holds a BSc in Electrical-Engineering and an MBA in Sustainability Operations; he is a Certified Assessor for Renewable Energy and Green Building Rating System, with over 30-years' experience in Sustainable & Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Resource Efficiency and Climate actions, working with the private sector, national and local authorities in addition to international funding agencies in the Middle East, ENI region and GCC countries. Mr. Kaassamani has led and supported the preparation of Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plans (SECAPs) for many cities in Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt and Palestine. His professional experience includes providing technical assistance in the adhesion of the Covenant of Mayors (CoM) initiatives and supporting national authorities to appoint CoM Supporters and Coordinators; establishing national SEAP Support Mechanisms (SSMs); formulating national strategies and policies for sustainable energy at country level; as well as developing plans for smart cities. Mr. Kaassamani has been long involved in building the planning capacity of local authorities, the coordination and integration of planning processes, assuring the responsiveness of plans to local needs, their accountability to local communities, and strengthening budget execution, monitoring and evaluation.
