Diego Intrigliolo has spent his career working on applied aspects of irrigation and applied water relations of woody perennial crops with the aim of improving on-farm irrigation efficiency, plant water use efficiency and indeed water productivity. From 2012, he has a part-time contract with the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation as a scientific consultant following the PRIMA Joint Programme 'Partnership for research and innovation in the Mediterranean area' and the European Join Soil Programme on Agriculture Soils. In PRIMA he has acted as the chair of the Science of the Scientific Advisory Committee and in the current committee he is a member designated by the Union for the Mediterranean. In the past, he has been the Spanish National Expert for the H2020 SC2 on bioeconomy giving technical support to the CDTI National Contact Point. He is currently the associate editor for Irrigation Science, a Q1 Journal in the Agriculture Engineering category. Since January 2013, he has a part-time contract with the Spanish Funding Agency (AEI) as a Manager for the Agriculture and Agri-Food Sciences.
