Cornelius Schmidt is a policy officer and coordinates work on climate-related risks to financial stability at the Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union of the European Commission. On this subject, he also represents the European Commission in international working groups such as at the Financial Stability Board and the ECB/ESRB project team. From 2015 to 2021, he was member of the Chief Economist Team of DG Competition. He holds a PhD in Financial Economics.
