About

Mr Horst M. Pilger holds a doctorate in law and a master’s degree in business administration.  Prior to joining the European Commission in 1998, Mr Pilger served at the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg, worked with UNDP in Yemen, at the EFTA Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland and at the Prime Minister’s office in his native Austria. Since joining the Commission, Mr Pilger was posted in the EU Delegations to the Pacific (in Fiji) and in Malawi. After his return to Brussels, Belgium, Mr Pilger joined the Directorate for Latin America & the Caribbean in the Commission’s Directorate General for International Partnerships, where he is currently involved in the management of EU cooperation with Latin America in the field of environment and climate change.
