About

Oliver Schmoll leads the Water and Climate Programme at the WHO European Centre for Environment and Health in Bonn, Germany. He oversees the work on climate change and health at the WHO Regional Office for Europe, as well as the work on water, sanitation and hygiene. His team coordinates policy advice and technical support to WHO Member States and directs the development of evidence-based recommendations and guidance on climate-related health issues. It also provides the secretariat for the European Working Group on Health in Climate Change of the European Task Force on Environment and Health, which serves as a unique regional platform for linking climate science and public health practice. Oliver is an environmental engineer by training and has worked for WHO since 2013. He has more than 20 years of experience in the field of environment and health, both at national and international level.
