Marcelina Andrea Mataveia has a 24-year career at the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy, currently serving as Director of National Energy at MIREME. She previously held roles as Deputy National Director of Energy and Deputy National Director of Renewable Energies. With academic qualifications in Forestry Engineering and Forest and Wildlife Resource Management, Marcelina actively contributes to energy sector reforms, including shaping renewable energy policies, electrification strategies, and regulations. She also leads the inter-ministerial Task Force for the Energy Transition Strategy, set for Council of Ministers' approval before COP28, making her a key figure in advancing sustainable energy development in Mozambique.
