Empowering a Human-Centric Industry for the Twin Transitions
This session aims to spotlight European projects committed to driving the green and digital transition, emphasising the pivotal role of skills in addressing contemporary challenges. Industry 5.0 introduces a transformative vision for 21st-century Europe, putting forward a resilient, sustainable, and human-centric approach that yields benefits for industry, workers, and society at large. It empowers workers by addressing their evolving skills and training needs, enhances industry competitiveness, attracts top talent, and champions circular production models and resource-efficient technologies. The convergence of digitalization and innovative managerial approaches will be of paramount importance. Proposed actions within the industry part of the H2020 and Horizon Europe programmes tackle key elements for the transition toward human-centric industries, including skills, learning, teaching factories, customisation of manufacturing processes, artificial intelligence, and enhanced human-robot collaboration. This session paves the way for a system that places core human needs and interests at the heart of industry.
