About

Anne-Laure Gassin, Team Leader at the European Commission's Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety, is supporting the development of EU policy on food waste prevention. Under the EU's Farm to Fork Strategy, the European Commission is stepping up action to fight against food loss and waste as part of an integrated food systems approach. The Commission adopted, on 5 July 2023, a legislative proposal setting food waste reduction targets to be achieved by Member States by 2030. Anne-Laure joined the European Commission in 2013. She previously served, from 2003, as Director of Communications at the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and, prior to that, at Kellogg Company, where her last appointment was as European Director, Nutrition Affairs.
