Jens P. Linge has worked as scientific officer at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission since 2005, after his Ph.D. in Physics at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg and postdoctoral research at the Pasteur Institute in Paris. He joined the text and data mining team in 2008 where he focussed on the development of epidemic intelligence tools in the area of public health. As team leader of the JRC’s disinformation team, he pursues a data-driven approach to identifying and tracking disinformation narratives for a wide range of topics such as climate change, migration, elections, and geopolitical events such as the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine.
