The Research and Innovation for the Decarbonisation of Buildings
About 36% of EU GHG emissions are due to buildings. Therefore decarbonisation of the building sector is one of the main area of action in EU Green Deal energy policies. EU policies initiatives covers both renovation of existing buildings (envelope insulation and low-carbon heating and cooling technologies) and the construction of new zero emission buildings. The session will present the key research results from two EU funded research and innovation projects managed by the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA). Furthermore, JRC experts will present the current policy relevant research related to mitigation and decarbonisation of the buildings sector.
